Meet Liz, a 17-year-old powerhouse with an incredible sense of confidence, style, and heart. Liz, who attends Kent Roosevelt High School, is not just your typical high school student—she’s also a cherished member of the Teen Team. The Teen Team isn’t just about looking good on camera; it's about finding and celebrating inner and outer beauty, boosting self-confidence, and empowering each other. Liz shines both in front of the lens and behind the scenes as a member of the Dream Team, a role that’s all about supporting and hyping up the girls.
A Heartfelt Foundation
When we asked Liz about what has shaped her into the confident and outgoing person she is today, her answer was simple but profound: "My family heavily makes me "me," they've raised me to be the person I am today." She credits her friends and this team for helping her come out of her shell and for showing her the importance of self-love and self-expression. These powerful relationships, coupled with her own growth, have given her the strength to pursue her passions.
Liz has always been a vibrant, caring individual. She says, "It’s been super hard meeting new people and finding good people to be friends with," but that didn’t stop her. This year, Liz made a bold and nerve-wracking decision to change schools. She transferred so that she could pursue a career in cosmetology, a field she’s always been passionate about. And despite the challenges, it’s been an absolute blessing for her.
A New Journey in Cosmetology
"I’ve met so many good people being in cosmetology!" Liz shared with a bright smile. Her decision to dive into the program was driven by her lifelong love for hair, and as she now looks back, she says, "At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted it to be my lifelong job, but I can definitely say I would love to be a cosmetologist for my job."
In the next 5 to 10 years, Liz dreams of working at a salon, possibly starting her own one day, and building a life near the beach. "I would love to live near the beach and build my life there," she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she imagined her future. And with her natural charm, work ethic, and passion for beauty, there’s no doubt she’ll make that dream a reality.
Relationships and Support
Liz has also been dating her boyfriend for seven months. They met on Snapchat and instantly clicked over their shared interests. "He's the sweetest person I’ve ever met! We’re basically the same person," she says, beaming. In relationships, Liz is incredibly thoughtful and supportive. If a friend were going through a rough patch with their significant other, Liz would be the first person to offer a listening ear and support them through the tough times. "I'm always here to listen!" she says, adding with a smile, "I’d also take them out for ice cream."
Juggling Golf, Work, and Fun
When she’s not working at the Salon and Spa as a front desk receptionist or modeling with us, Liz loves playing golf. She’s been playing practically her whole life, and this year, she made a new friend in Jilli, a fellow golfer. "We always have such a great and goofy time playing together," Liz shares. The bond they’ve built on the golf course is one of her favorite memories this year.
Her job at the salon, where she’s been working for about two months, is another part of her journey she loves. She’s enjoying the opportunity to interact with clients and see the beauty industry up close. It’s clear that Liz has found her niche—whether it’s in beauty, modeling, or simply being there for her friends, she thrives when she’s helping others feel good about themselves.
Liz also has a love for horseback riding, she started at about 11 years old. She told us that when she first began she went through many challenges at the time with anxiety and riding, so she started western for a while to gain confidence. Once she felt comfortable she went back to English and started to compete. A few years into riding she met Riley.
Being on the Team also allowed Liz to get a meaningful shoot with Riley, as she wanted to capture the bond they have together. Liz wanted a keepsake of Riley since he is getting older, so she asked Davinda for an add-on shoot. Riley has been super important part of her life and riding journey.
Why Join the Teen Team?
As a returning Teen Team member and now part of the Dream Team, Liz has seen firsthand how powerful the experience can be for young girls. Her advice for anyone considering joining the Teen Team? "Don’t be scared to talk to new people, everyone is so sweet!" she says, adding, "You’re going to have so much fun at every photoshoot—there’s always laughing and giggling!" Most importantly, Liz reminds girls that they can be themselves. "Everyone is welcoming and not there to judge, but to have fun!"
For Liz, the Teen Team has been more than just a modeling opportunity. It’s been a supportive community of girls who uplift each other, show kindness, and always have fun together. She feels like the team has given her a sense of belonging—a place where she can be herself, surrounded by friends who genuinely care about her.
Personal Growth and Confidence
Since joining the Teen Team, Liz has experienced significant growth. She shares, "I feel like I’ve come out of my shell. I used to be a lot more shy, and now I’m comfortable talking to everyone!" Not only has she gained confidence, but she’s also developed a deeper sense of self-love. The Teen Team has truly helped Liz realize how beautiful it is to embrace who you are and encourage others to do the same.
